What a "NO" vote on Prop 3 Means

A "NO" vote would leave the Vermont Constitution unchanged.

Workers would continue to have the right to organize, associate and join labor unions under existing state and federal law.

A "NO" vote would also leave future legislatures with the ability to debate and change Vermont labor policy through the normal legislative process.

That could include future consideration of:

Right-to-work laws.
Rules governing union dues and dues deductions.
Reforms to public employee healthcare and benefits.
Reforms to pension and retirement arrangements.
Other labor policies as Vermont’s economic and fiscal circumstances change.

A "NO" vote does not eliminate the right to organize or collectively bargain.

A "NO" vote would preserve existing worker protections while leaving future lawmakers the flexibility to change labor policy through the legislative process.
